The Intercity Transit Authority is canceling the Wednesday, July 4, 2018, meeting due to the holiday. The next meeting of the Authority will be a Special Meeting on July 11, 2018, at 5:30 p.m.

Based on comments received and additional technical review, Intercity Transit has made three amendments to the proposed route and service changes scheduled for September 23, 2018. Additionally, the public comment period has been extended from June 20 to June 30, providing additional time for community input to the amendments.

The Intercity Transit Authority scheduled a special meeting for May 16. The agenda will be to review the composition of the governing body of the Public Transit Benefit Area (PTBA), which is required every four years by legislation. The legislation creating PBTA requires that this review be conducted at a special meeting of the county legislative authority and an elected representative of each city within the PTBA boundaries.
Intercity Transit invites public comment on potential federally funded transit projects proposed in its draft 2019- 2022 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The comment period will culminate with a public hearing Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. at Intercity Transit’s business office.

 A joint project between the City of Tumwater and Intercity Transit will install wider sidewalks with curbs and gutters, crosswalks with rapid flashing beacons, curb extensions (bulb-outs), new asphalt, and improved bus stops and benches at Tumwater Square Station. Construction will begin on March 5 and is expected to last through late April.

The City of Olympia Parks, Arts & Recreation's Poet Laureate Program and Intercity Transit are launching a new collaborative project, "Poetry Rides the Bus." Through this project, transit riders have the opportunity to discover 22 different poems, written by local community members, which are on display at bus stops across the City of Olympia and inside the 71-bus fleet run by Intercity Transit.
