On May 3, we completed the full implementation of Intercity Transit’s redesigned bus system—an effort years in the making and shaped by extensive community input, long range planning, and phased service improvements. Now that the system is live, we want to share what’s new, what’s next, and how riders can make the most of the redesigned network.
A Redesigned System Built for Connection and Growth
With the May 3 launch, our hope is that riders will experience:
- A modernized transit network that improves travel throughout our service area—the Thurston County Public Transportation Benefit Area (PTBA) and beyond.
- Updated routes and schedules shaped by a decade of community input that have been years in the making.
- More direct, frequent service on many corridors that meet community needs and streamline mobility throughout the region.
New Maps, Schedules, and Planning Tools
Maps and schedules for all routes are available on our website at intercitytransit.com/plan-your-trip/routes. Riders can scroll through schedules online or download and print them from any of the route webpages. Use your favorite trip planning tool to understand connections and explore service options for daily travel.
Continuing Rider Support and Community Engagement
Public education and outreach will continue as riders adapt to the new system. Customers can expect ongoing opportunities to:
- Meet the Intercity Transit team in the community. We’ll be riding the system throughout the coming week and offering support to passengers at transfer points and transit centers.
- Receive trip‑planning help. During the first week of implementation our Customer Service team will have extended call center hours from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m., Monday, May 4 through Friday, May 8. They are available by calling 360-786-1881. After the first week, they will be available daily from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. by phone or by stopping in to see them at the Olympia Transit Center.
- Our Customer Service team will be helping customers at our transit centers throughout the first week, and our Transit Ambassadors will be available on buses for anyone who needs assistance.
- Share feedback so the system continues to evolve.
