As the tragic details of the Amtrak derailment unfold, our thoughts and support go to the passengers, staff and families of those involved, as well as to the first responders helping at the accident site. This event touches our community directly and profoundly. All of us at Intercity Transit are deeply saddened by this terrible accident. 

Intercity Transit will be closed on Christmas Day, Monday, Dec. 25 and New Year's Day, Monday, Jan. 1. Regular local, Express, Dial-A-Lift and Village Vans will not be in service. Customer service and the business office will also be closed. We will operate on normal Sunday schedules Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Normal operations will resume after the holidays on Tuesday, Dec. 26 and Tuesday, Jan. 2.

The Intercity Transit Authority is canceling the Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, meeting. The next meeting of the Authority will be on Jan. 3, 2018, at 5:30 p.m.

Intercity Transit has selected seven organizations to receive retired vans through a competitive application and review process. The organizations will provide vital transportation services to their clients.

Thanks to everyone who provided their thoughts on the future of public transportation in Thurston County. We received input from over 3,500 individuals. We are currently identifying common themes and preferences that will be used to help shape the services we provide as our community grows.

With school starting, more children are walking and biking to school. October is International Walk to School Month so drivers should use extra caution, especially when near children and schools.
Intercity Transit scheduled a joint meeting for Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 5:30 p.m.
Intercity Transit’s Van Grant program is accepting applications for retired vanpool vans. Three 12-passenger vans and one seven-passenger van are available for granting to qualifying non-profit organizations and agencies. Applications are due by 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017.
