Intercity Transit Seeks Public Comment on Annual Transportation Improvement Program

Olympia, WA – Intercity Transit invites public comments on transit projects identified in the annual update of the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for the period 2023-2026. Identifying projects in the local agency TIP is a requirement for the agency to utilize Federal funding.

Intercity Transit is enhancing the technology we use to provide real-time information about our buses to applications such as OneBusAway, Google Maps and Transit. As we implement these changes, these apps will not receive or display real-time information from all our buses, which means you will not see complete information temporarily. These enhancements are expected to be complete by early April.

Olympia Transit Center offers new services and improved access

Olympia, WA – Intercity Transit welcomes Greyhound to the Olympia Transit Center, providing regional and national bus travel options to South Puget Sound residents. Passengers can purchase Greyhound tickets in person using a credit card at the Customer Service counter and ship and receive packages via Greyhound beginning January 15, 2022.

Intercity Transit operates its regular schedules on Veterans Day, Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021. Customer Service, located in the Olympia Transit Center, will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the holiday.

Intercity Transit wants your input on its draft 2022 Budget and 2022-2027 Strategic Plan. Comments must be received by 12 p.m. on Nov. 3 to be considered unless they are provided at the public hearing. The Intercity Transit Authority anticipates making final decisions about next year’s budget and the agency’s updated strategic plan at their Nov. 17, 2021 meeting.
