Olympia, WA -- Intercity Transit invites the public to comment on its draft section of the Thurston Regional Hazards Mitigation Plan during their regularly scheduled Citizen Advisory Committee meeting on Monday, July 17, and again on Wednesday, July 19, during the Intercity Transit Authority meeting. Both meetings start at 5:30 p.m. and will be held at Intercity Transit's Administrative Offices located at 526 Pattison Street SE in Olympia.

The Thurston Regional Hazards Mitigation Plan is a collaborative effort of local governments to develop a coordinated strategy to reduce the risks of the most destructive hazards that threaten the Thurston region. The plan is updated every five years.

After a public presentation, community members may comment on how Intercity Transit will:

  • Manage emergency planning.
  • Respond to community needs during various emergency scenarios.
  • Identify hazards that could affect Intercity Transit's service area.
  • Prioritize how to lower risk from hazards.
