Intercity Transit will conduct a public hearing Wednesday, May 23, 2018, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The hearing is to receive public comment on proposed Intercity Transit bus route and schedule changes. The hearing will take place at the administrative office of Intercity Transit, 526 Pattison Street SE, Olympia.
The proposed changes are intended for implementation effective September 23, 2018. The proposed service-change package address both operational issues (buses running late) and community priorities (more direct routes and service to growing neighborhoods). Proposed changes are within the Intercity Transit Authority’s (ITA) adopted service levels and do not represent an increase in local bus service beyond what was approved for the 2018 operating budget. The ITA is not scheduled to take final action on the proposal until July 18, 2018.
Intercity Transit welcomes public comments on the proposed route and schedule changes. In addition to the public hearing, Intercity Transit has scheduled a number of opportunities to review the proposed changes with the public. More information on the proposed service-change package and a schedule of times when you can meet with staff to review the changes can be found at www.intercitytransit.com/servicechanges.
If you cannot attend the May 23 hearing, comments on the proposed service changes can be submitted by email: to servicechanges@intercitytransit.com; by comment line: 360-705-5852; or mail: Proposed Service Changes, P. O. Box 659, Olympia, WA 98507. Comments and suggestions from the public will continue to be considered through June 20, 2018, following the public hearing on May 23.
