Hourly: $32.12-$43.35Summary:
Coordinates and performs activities related to the travel-training program. Responsibilities include serving as the travel trainer for the Agency; serving as the liaison for the coordination of transportation between agencies; assisting with the certification and processing of clients eligible for services based on the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Agency’s Dial-A-Lift (DAL) policy.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
Assists with ADA complementary paratransit eligibility determinations, interviews and functional testing, transit orientations, mobility training, and path of travel assessments to/from residences and bus stops. Arrange interviews, transportation, conduct and document interviews, conduct and document physical and cognitive assessments as necessary, maintain eligibility records and schedules, and participate in appeal panels. Conducts Travel Training with riders to teach bus riding skills and habits. Attend outreach and community events promoting Travel Training and/or representing Dial-A-Lift and Intercity Transit.

- Applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, rules, and regulations including regulatory definition of ADA paratransit eligibility.

- Solid interviewing, assessment, and observation skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population.
- Administering a standardized evaluation tool and be able to consistently administer and score such a tool according to established protocols.

- Ability to organize a filing system for multiple work flows.

Licensing Requirements:
Must submit to criminal background check the results of which must meet hiring criteria for the role.
Physical Requirements:
Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Incumbents may be subjected to travel.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
Training and Experience:
Required: Associates Degree and three years of responsible experience working within a medical field, transportation service, or for a social service agency that interacts with people with disabilities in a medical or training capacity, classroom instruction, and/or working with patients/students and their families, advocates, and support agencies.
Desired: Degree in or certification assessing physical and developmental disabilities, mental health, or rehabilitation.

Licensure in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy.
or
Clinical and Translational Research (CTR), Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), or (Physical Therapist Assistant) PTA.
or
Background in Health Human Service, Social Work, Health Administration, or Education.
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
