Annual: $103,480.00-$139,713.60Summary:
The Construction Projects Coordinator position is responsible for the administration and oversight of all aspects of public works projects, including but not limited to, ensuring high-quality results, timely completion, and documented compliance of all applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations and policies as mandated by the funding source. In addition, this position is responsible for developing and advancing a public works subprogram within Procurement that coaches procurement coordinators to develop public works skills to include documenting best practices, procedures, and checklists, which will promote an agency-wide project management culture.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
Plans, organizes and manages the development of transit amenities, programs and projects from early project development, grants coordination (planning for, soliciting and managing), and ensuring the agency complies with federal and state requirements associated with our funding. Performs the strategic planning for capital project development, supporting transit development with state and federal requirements such as short and long-range planning initiatives and supporting development efforts related to Title VI, environmental compliance NEPA/SEPA, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) initiatives. This position requires strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, as it requires interaction with elected officials and senior staff at peer agencies.

Essential Duties:
Knowledge:
- Principles and practices of basic engineering concepts related to design of real property structures and systems; construction standards and practices; construction scheduling; cash flow projection; national and State building codes; contract bid practices; construction cost indices; cost estimating principles and techniques; cost control; business planning and management science and construction disputes; cost accounting of direct, indirect, standard and overhead costs; productivity and value analysis;
- Alternative Procurement Methods including: Design Build, GCCM, JOC, Small Works; Renovation, On-Call, Interagency Agreements, Cooperative Contracts, Piggybacking;
- Project management, planning principles, techniques, current trends, environmental laws.
- Procurement principles and practices;
- Applicable federal, state, and local laws and rules as well as agency policies;
- Conflict resolution techniques;
- Public contract law;
- Public sector liability issues;
- Contract negotiation principles;
- Permitting expertise.
Skills:
- Analysis and interpretation of construction related drawings and specifications.

Licensing Requirements:
PE or CE license desired, but not required Must submit to criminal background check the results of which must meet hiring criteria for the role.
Physical Requirements:
Positions in this class typically requires: fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motion. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Training and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture, or a related field and five years of public works project management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
