Public Invited to Learn about and Provide Feedback on Proposed Changes

Olympia, WA – Intercity Transit will conduct a public hearing Wednesday, May 23, 2018, 5:30 p.m. at the administrative office, 526 Pattison St. SE in Olympia. The hearing is to receive public comment on proposed Intercity Transit bus route and schedule changes for possible implementation on September 23, 2018.

On March 7, 2018 the Intercity Transit Authority reviewed options for improving local bus service in the near term without additional funding. The proposed service changes are based on ridership data and input for transit improvements from passengers and the community.

Community open houses to learn about the proposed changes are scheduled as follows:

  • May 30, 4:30 – 6 p.m.
    Lacey Timberland Regional Library, 500 College St. SE
  • June 4, 4:30 – 6 p.m.
    Tumwater Timberland Regional Library, 7023 New Market St.

Continued Community Input

In 2017, Intercity Transit reached out to a broad cross-section of people and businesses in our service area through our IT Road Trip engagement. We received nearly 10,000 suggestions on how to enhance service.

The service changes proposed for September 23, 2018 are our first steps toward implementing a long-term vision for transit in Thurston County.
