Applications Welcome | Help shape local policy for public transportation

The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is an essential 20-member group that helps shape the future of public transportation for everyone in our service area.

As a member of the CAC, you'll provide vital input on issues like service changes, strategic plans, and transit amenities. We're looking for individuals who reflect our diverse community, including transit riders, seniors, youth, and representatives from local businesses and nonprofits.

Ready to get involved? Successful candidates are eligible for a monthly stipend to support their participation.

Apply by October 2, 2026, to be considered for a seat on the committee. Online applications can be accessed here.

The Community Advisory Committee meets in person and virtually on the third Monday of every month at Intercity Transit's Customer Service Center. The meetings are open to the public for observation. If you are interested in making public comment, please register to attend the Intercity Transit Authority Board meeting by contacting Pat Messmer, Clerk of the Board.

Nineteen of the Community Advisory Committee members serve three-year terms and the youth position serves a one-year term. Members are selected to achieve diversity and geographical representation in the Public Transportation Benefit Area. The group includes senior citizens, youth, people with disabilities, college students, business owners, social service agency representatives, neighborhood associations, the medical community, environmentalists, and bicyclists.

At least one member of the Intercity Transit Authority attends each Community Advisory Committee meeting.
